Marin Catholic High School | College Preparatory

Faith, Knowledge Service

About the Department

The guidance and college counseling program is an essential part of the college preparatory program. Its primary purpose is to provide academic, college and personal support services, which will assist each student to develop the highest degree of personal responsibility in the areas of academic, college preparation, personal growth, decision-making skills and social development. Counselors strive to foster and enhance integrated growth in the personal, social, spiritual, educational and career development of each student. We recognize that all students need a personalized and developmental approach to learning and life skill experiences. We view school counseling as being developmental in nature, building upon previously learned skills at various ages.

Marin Catholic has support services for students with learning disabilities. We accept students with learning disabilities who meet our admissions criteria indicating that they are able to succeed in a college preparatory curriculum. The most important consideration for all is to be sure that the services we provide will adequately meet the needs of the student.

Marin Catholic makes reasonable accommodations for students with documented learning disabilities. These accommodations may include extended time testing, seating preference, note taking partners, or enrollment in the Resource Tech class.
