Bio/Coach Mike Saia:
Mike Saia just completed his third season as the Varsity Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Marin Catholic, winning more than 20 games in each season he has coached. This year, Coach Saia led the Wildcats to an MCAL victory for the first time since 2005. He is a graduate of Drake High School (2-time 1st Team All-League). He played one year at College of Marin, and three years at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, graduating with a B.S. degree in agriculture management. He has developed a basketball philosophy from years of playing, coaching, and officiating. Mike was a NCAA Division I basketball official from 1991-1999, finishing his career with two trips to the NCAA tournament. Utilizing the ‘whole child’ approach to coaching, Coach Saia provides life lessons through the sport of basketball and shares his enthusiasm for the game.
