Music Director Jim Wells
Mr. Wells earned his B.A. from California State University, Stanislaus. Instead of going on for a Masters degree, he continued his education to receive a General Secondary, Life Credential. He has taught music for 34 years and brings a vast amount of experience to the MC community.
Groups he has directed consistently receive Superior Ratings at Festivals. These include marching bands, concert bands, jazz bands, and all types of choirs. He taught in Tuolumne County for 27 years at Summerville High School, where his Jazz Choir, Jazz @ 8, was one of the top choirs in the Western United States.
His groups earn top honors (1st Place and/or Superior) at a variety of Festivals including: Santa Cruz Jazz Festival; Reno International Jazz Festival; RAVES in Redding, CA; Fullerton Jazz Festival, Fullerton, CA; University of Northern Colorado Jazz Festival, Greeley, CO; Music Fest Canada, Vancouver and Toronto.
