Criteria

Marin Catholic is a co-educational, college preparatory school committed to the development of the whole person. We strive to admit students who demonstrate the ability to succeed academically and who demonstrate a desire to participate in the extra-curricular activities of the school community. Acceptances are based on the following criteria:

Application Requirements for ninth grade applicants - Class of 2028 (2024-2025 School Year):

Online Application Form: Click here to access the application form. The application deadline is Tuesday, January 9, 2024. 

* It is important to note that you will not have access to the following recommendation forms until after you submit an application.

Recommendation Forms:

Parochial School Students (San Francisco Archdiocesan Schools Only): 
1. Principal/Teacher Recommendation Form 
*This form will be submitted by your current school, there is no additional action on the part of the applicant family to request the filing of this form.

Independent, Private, Public and Non-SF Arch School Students:
1. Math Teacher Recommendation Form
2. English Teacher Recommendation Form
3. Admin/Counselor Recommendation Form
*These forms will be requested by the applicant and sent to the appropriate teacher/counselor through the application portal. The due date for all recommendations is January 9, 2024.
 
Transcripts: Once an application is submitted, the Marin Catholic Admissions Office will gather transcripts from the appropriate middle schools.

Application Requirements for transfer applicants:

Transfer student applications are being accepted for the 2024-2025 school year.  Please note that we do not allow mid-year transfers. Transfer students will be considered based on space and we will better understand our enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year in mid-March. All transfer student applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2024.

Timeline

The following is a general timeline of the admissions process for the Class of 2028 (those applying as incoming freshmen for Fall 2024).
  • August 25 - Application Available & Visit Day Registration Opens
  • September-December - Student and Parent Visits available (see the Admissions Events page for specific dates)
  • October 22 - Open House
  • January 9  - Application and Recommendation Deadline
  • January 15 - Completed Tuition Assistance Application Submitted to TADS. Visit the Tuition and Assistance page for more information.
  • March 14 - Notification Day: Admissions letters mailed to parents notifying them of admissions decision from Admissions Office
  • March 15 - Electronic notification available after 4:00pm and tuition assistance awards emailed to parents
