Student Visits

September - November, Various Dates

We strongly encourage eighth-grade students to schedule a visit to Marin Catholic. Time spent visiting Marin Catholic during the school day is an invaluable way to experience what it is like to be an MC student. Student visits are offered on various dates beginning in September. Students should arrive by 8:15 am and will be dismissed at 12:45 pm. We ask that students arrive in MC dress code attire: a collared shirt and pants, shorts or a skirt in good repair (jeans are acceptable but no athletic wear). The day begins with a presentation in our Library Media Room beginning at 8:20am followed by a guided tour of campus. Your student will then be introduced to their MC student guide and have the opportunity to sit in on two morning classes and enjoy a snack from our cafe. Visitors will experience a morning as an MC student as well as learn about our offerings in music, theater, visual arts, athletics, clubs, student government, campus ministry and more. At the end of their visit, we will send each student home with a sack lunch. Our goal is that no student leaves a visit day with any unanswered question.

Parent Tours

September-November, Various Mornings

Parent school day tours are available various morning from 9:15am-12:00pm beginning in September and ending in November. Parent tours begin with an introduction to the school's philosophy and mission from President Tim Navone and Principal Chris Valdez, and an admissions process overview by Director of Admissions Janie Rockett.  Parents are then given a tour of the campus by Tim Navone, during which they will meet a variety of teachers and learn more about the curriculum. This visit allows for small groups of parents to experience life on the Marin Catholic campus during a regular school day.

The Academic Experience at MC

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

On Wednesday, October 2, prospective parents will have an opportunity to learn the details of the MC Academic Philosophy and experience demonstrations of our instructional and assessment practices. After hearing an academic overview from the Administration, parents will attend three chosen sample class sessions facilitated by Marin Catholic teachers. This event is a great hands-on introduction to the Marin Catholic academic experience and opportunity to meet some of our excellent teachers.

Open House

Begins in the Student Center
No Pre-Registration Necessary

All prospective students and their parents are invited to join us at our community-wide Open House on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The Open House highlights our academic program, student leadership opportunities, campus ministry, the arts, athletics, and introduces you to members of our community. Please plan on arriving in the gym promptly at 11:00am. No need to RSVP.

Seventh and eighth-grade students and their families will have the opportunity to attend four academic sessions to learn more about the academic philosophy and sequences for specific disciplines.
