  This highly interactive and collaborative course encourages students to increase their ability to communicate, and to express their own experience and the experience of others. Throughout the year, students will learn proper warm-up and relaxation techniques, develop their senses, build concentration, and learn basic acting skills by participating in a wide variety of drama games, improvisational activities, movement exercises, and scripted performances. This course satisfies the prerequisite for entry into Acting 2, Ceramics, or Photo.

  In this course, students will continue their investigations into the methods of creating character, text analysis and performance techniques. Students will analyze and perform more advanced material drawn from the canon of classic and modern plays. The class will challenge students’ creativity, stimulate the range of their imaginations, and sharpen their abilities to observe themselves and others.

• Acting 3

  Read More
  This course is designed to further develop the skills learned in Acting 1 and 2. Theatre history, audition/interview techniques, and experimental performance will also be significant components of this course. Through physical explorations, improvisations, monologues, scenes, and longer works, students continue an in-depth exploration of acting. This class culminates in the production of the Drama Showcase.
