All Marin Catholic, junior students and their parents are invited to attend the College Admissions Case Study Program & College Fair hosted by the Guidance & College Counseling Department.

This evening is an extremely valuable opportunity for students who plan on applying to private colleges. It is designed for both students and parents to find out what happens when an application arrives at a college admissions office.

In the Case Study Program, over 90 colleges and universities from throughout the country send admissions representatives to MC for an evening where parents and students act as a simulated admissions panel. Parents and students will be emailed case information they will need to read in advance so they can take part effectively in the discussions. This advance reading is a requirement for the evening, and should take about an hour. During the session, attendees become part of an admissions committee guided by two or three of the admissions officers. The task for the evening is to rank the applicants and determine which of them the college would accept, wait-list, or deny.
