This past Easter break, 26 MC students along with Ms. Maloney, Mrs. Jaeger and Mrs. Diego ventured to Tanzania, Africa. They stayed in the Njoro Village with the local doctor and the head of the village referred to as "Momma". For 4 days, they made the 20-minute trek to help with building the town hall in the morning and teaching in the afternoon. In the morning they completed hands-on construction projects from moving dirt to mixing cement, and laying bricks. The students worked tirelessly to help finish the construction of the town hall and the water fountain. The afternoons were spent teaching English to 1st-7th graders as well as playing some competitive soccer with the students. After a wonderful stay in Njoro they headed to the Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater where they saw rhinos, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos and more! This trip was incredible. From living with the locals and truly learning about their culture to seeing so much of the natural beauty that Tanzania has to offer, it was a once in a lifetime experience.
