Celebrating the Assumption of Mary at our First All School Mass

On Wednesday, August 15, Marin Catholic celebrated the first Liturgy of the school year. The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a holy day that celebrates Mary’s assumption into heaven.

The student leaders of the ASB (Associated Student Body) proclaimed the readings and the Prayers of the Faithful and brought up the gifts at the offertory procession. Monsignor welcomed the students to a new academic year and spoke about the importance of new beginnings, using the beauty of Mary’s life as a model. He called us to be open to the Holy Spirit working in our lives, as Mary’s humility shows us how God can work in exciting ways when we say yes to His will. We were joined by many parents, friends and alumni guests. What a blessed way to begin our year as a community united in faith!
