Conceptual Physics Students Launch Catapults

After spending a couple weeks learning about the physics of projectile motion, conceptual physics students were given one week to conduct additional research, draw up blueprints, and then construct a catapult of their own.  This assessment was a hands-on, practical way for students to demonstrate the knowledge they learned not only in physics, but in basic construction skills as well.  Awards were given out for maximum distance, accuracy, and hang time.
