American Math Competition: Eva Wang '15 & Jack Snyder '14 Rank Top 5% in the Country

On February 4, 107 of MC's best math students were asked to take the American Mathematics Contest (Level 10 and Level 12) given by the Mathematics Association of America.  These are 25 question, 75 minute multiple choice examinations in secondary school mathematics.  While the exams use skills found in math courses offered in most high schools around the country, it provides questions in formats from the very easy to the extremely challenging.

Two of Marin Catholic's students scored well enough (top 5% of all students in the country taking the level 12 exam) to progress to the next round.  A huge congratulations to John Snyder and Eva Wang on this accomplishment.  They will move on to the American Invitational Mathematics Examination to be taken on Thursday, March 13.  Only the students who scored this well will be invited to participate.

A hearty congratulations to the Marin Catholic math department on the preparation of all of the MC students who participated and to the teachers of John and Eva in supporting them in this achievement.
