Photography Students Attend Photophilanthropy Workshop with Ed Kashi

On Friday, March 7th, 9 Photo II and III students attended a panel discussion/workshop with acclaimed National Geographic photographer Ed Kashi, along with other social activist photographers, moderated by Nancy Farese, who founded Photophilanthropy and has come to present to Marin Catholic photo students every year since she started the organization.
The workshops focused on how mobile photography (iphones, etc.) are changing the way we see and capture visual stories, as and the importance of ethics and empathy in how we record what we see. These workshops were the precursor to the all day Photophilanthropy annual international activist awards, where another one of our students (Morgan Lange) spent the day volunteering for the event.
