Sunday, February 22nd was a special day for Marin Catholic students preparing to receive the Sacraments. They went on a pilgrimage, beginning with solemn Mass at St. Dominic’s in the city. The Dominican brothers went all out for the students, welcoming them, saving pews and reserving a place for lunch afterwards. The next stop was the Carmelite cloistered monastery, where they wrote out our intentions and passed them to the nuns. Then came a whirlwind set of stops: at St. Ignatius’ followed by St. Peter and Paul’s. The sponsors and spiritual directors found a quiet moment to pray with their young adult in each of these churches. There was just enough time for snacks at the park. Then, last but not least, they ended the day at the cathedral for the Rite of Election. Family members of students participating in the rite met up at the cathedral. Marin Catholic took up quite a few rows—and with the youngest, most enthusiastic crowd!
