Great showing for Track at the MCAL Meet
Wow, what a day out there today! I don't have a voice anymore after all of that.  Some of you may have heard me on that Instagram video of the 200 that I took.  Haha!

Top six in each event move on to NCS next week.   I sent out who is moving on from Thursday, so here is a recap of today!

On the track today, the girls' 4x100 relay got us going with a 5th place in 51.93, which was almost a second faster than their season best!  They are moving on to NCS!  Also, the girls' 4x400 relay improved their qualifying time by eight seconds from 4:25 down to 4:17!  They placed 5th as well and are moving on to NCS!  Tiana Anderson was 9th in the 100 meters.  Caroline Brockman set another personal best in the 400 meters by running a 60.78 to place 6th.  She will go to NCS ranked 5th from our league as Branson does not go on to NCS.  Alexa Tagliaferri and Taylor Powers ran an awesome 3200 meters as well!  Bailey Ash was 4th in the Pole Vault and is moving on to NCS!  Lilly Bell set a personal best in the triple jump by over a foot, with Addie Thompson leading the way for the Cats in the TJ.  Sarah De Surville was a few inches off of her personal best!  In the discus, Elaine led the way in 11th place, with Addie Thompson improving her personal best by nine feet!  Allaire came in right at her personal best.

For the boys today, it was pretty crazy out there!  The boys' 4x100 got us going by winning the MCAL title and breaking their own school record in 43.11!  The 100 meters was amazing with Hunter just edging out Darius in 11.01 and 11.09 respectively.  Those were both personal bests for them with legal wind!  Sophomore Anthony Marino placed 6th in the 100 to give us three guys moving on in the 100 meters to NCS!  The boys' 200 meters was otherworldly.  I almost lost sleep last night thinking of how awesome it was going to be and these guys delivered.  Max Glasser won the 200 in a PR of 22.06, with Hunter right next to him in 22.08.  Both are huge PR's for these guys.  Darius set a PR in 22.41 as well!  This race was special!  Max Glasser won three total MCAL titles today!  He won the 400 meters which was no surprise to anyone out there.  He ran a controlled 50.43 to move on to NCS.  Peter Brown continues to amaze us by dropping a second per week in the 400 meters.  It is something special!  He placed third today and dropped 1.43 seconds off his time down to 52.40!  He is also going to NCS! Freshman Andrew Thompson ran a  PR in the 800 meters dropping another second off his time down to 2:07!  That is very fast as a freshman.  Our 3200 meter boys ran phenomenal today.  Ian Converse placed 11th and displayed an amazing kick down the homestretch!  Blake came in behind him and ran really strong as well.  Freshman Jack Diener had a huge breakthrough dropping his 3200 time from 13:04 to 12:08!  Parker almost equalled him dropping his PR from 12:50 down to 12:12!.  In the 110 Hurdles, another freshman, Nik Fisher ran a great race in 18.00 seconds!  He placed 8th and missed moving on to NCS by only .55 seconds.  Mr. Andrew Colletti ran the race we knew he was going to run by dropping his PR from 43.89 to 43.37!  He placed 5th and is moving on to NCS!  At the end of the meet, the 4x400 relay was pretty amazing with our team losing by only 1.2 seconds and running a 3:32!  Our qualifying time was 3:37 and we will be moving on to NCS in that event as well! This time was only three seconds off the school record!  On the field today, Zachary Margulis set a PR in the triple jump by over two feet!  He placed 5th and is moving on to NCS!  Gabe Ramirez also set a personal best improving by six inches to place eighth.  Marcus Narodny placed 15th in the triple jump and is moving on to NCS in the pole vault.  Our boys' discus throwers competed well with Frankie leading the way, with Spencer and Collin right behind.  Spencer set an 8' personal best.

In the end, our boys' team placed 2nd at MCALS!  We scored 101 points with Tam at 128.  3rd place was TL with 62, Redwood 50, Drake 50.  Last season the boys were 3rd and scored 60 points.  Things are looking up for MC!
