On November 7 and 9, sophomores "Shined Their Light" at the sophomore retreat at St. Vincent's Church in Marinwood.

Led by upperclassmen (pictured) and staff, the day was be spent at Mass, in small group sharing, and studying the stained glass windows in one of Marin's most beautiful chapels. Our prayer was that each sophomore discover how they can shine their light and hear God's beautiful dreams for each of them. Click here for more.

The sophomores heard a talk by senior Charlie Hunt. Charlie invited the class to think about how they behave toward their families and friends. He encouraged them to be a person of kindness and directed them toward the virtues as a way to live. By his personal witness, the students were able to discuss the virtues they portray in their lives and focus on areas of growth. The sophomores also heard from a panel of upperclassmen. The panel focused on blessings and each person spoke about a particular blessing in his/her life and how that blessing has drawn them to goodness. They heard about the blessings of parents, trusting friends, saying no to drugs and alcohol, altar serving, doing service, and even how certain experiences of suffering lead to goodness.

After lunch the sophomores participated in a "Catholic Scavenger Hunt" that had them running around the campus collecting different items. Then they gathered back in the church for a short adoration service in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Sister Rose invited everyone to bring any of their fears or concerns and to give them to Christ. It was a day filled with prayer and fellowship.
