English 9 introduces students to the MC reading and writing curriculum and prepares them for the demands of the 9th grade English curriculum. Students are introduced to the novel and spend the 22 day course of study examining, discussing and writing about the work under consideration. Basic study, vocabulary, organization, reading and writing skills form the backbone of this course. Students enter the 9th grade with a better understanding of what is expected of them and a stronger foundation in the language arts.

Math 9 not only prepares incoming MC students for the demands of Algebra I during their freshman year, but also establishes a solid math foundation for future study in math at MC. This 22 day course reviews key concepts from the 8th grade while also introducing students to high school level math curriculum. Students gain a more solid understanding of key problem solving and study skills that will better prepare them for the 9th grade.
