MC Summer Offerings for incoming freshmen and returning students.

INCOMING STUDENTS

Incoming Student-High School Success Workshop

Two one-week sessions:
June 17-21
June 24-28 
(students can come for one or both)
Monday-Friday
9am-2pm (lunch at 12pm)
Cost-$500 per week
Offered to students who need support based on grades and recommendations

Maximum 20 students

A cohesive program which addresses academic skills (focused on English and math), study skills, and executive functioning.  Students will meet with a variety of teachers and administrators from all over Marin Catholic.  Students will learn the basic elements of working in community (an essential part of MC’s academic program).  Time will be spent working on the summer homework in preparation for the fall term. Students will take initial assessments and receive feedback on what they can do in order to be most prepared for the start of school and what they can do to be successful at Marin Catholic.   

RETURNING STUDENTS

Class of 2025: Senior College Application Workshop

Cost-$300

Hosted by Trevor Smyth and the Counseling Department
Offered to rising seniors who are applying for college

Rising seniors will spend three days creating their college list, common app essay, list of accomplishments/resume, inputting grades and addressing specific college needs. If you have not signed up please contact your MC counselor for more information.

Summer Online Classes Support

3 weeks June 10-13, 17-20, 24-27
Monday-Thursday
9am-12pm
Cost-$600 

Hosted by Mr. Van Horn
Offered to students who need supervision and a place to work while remediating grades.

1 supervisor per 15 students

This support is for students who are taking online summer courses. Students, in conjunction with an MC Counselor, will sign up for an online summer/remediation class.  Students will come to MC and check in with a monitor who will make recommendations on work to be completed.  At the end of each daily session, the monitor will check out students and contact family regarding progress made on this day. Students who have participated in the past have completed 75% or more of a semester-long class during these three weeks.
