Parent participation makes an impact! As partners in education, families are encouraged to participate early and often. Investment of time and talent of MC’s families not only supports the entire school community but it also adds to each family's experience at Marin Catholic.

Parent/Family Volunteers

The gift of time and talent is an essential resource for Marin Catholic and makes the school community vibrant. There are many opportunities to lend energy and expertise and there is an expectation that all parents volunteer in some capacity each year. Whether helping with community events and fundraisers, supporting drama or music productions, acting as a team parent, or assisting with Campus Ministry - there is something special for everyone. For current parents, let us know your interest by completing the volunteer interest form located on the Resource Board under Supporting MC.

Parent/Family Volunteer Commitment

As a community, families support Marin Catholic by participating in the life of the community. We suggest families contribute a minimum of 10 hours of service in an area of interest each school year. These hours, while not tracked, are valuable to the MC experience. Here are suggested volunteer areas:
  • Serving as a member of a board, such as the Parent Advisory Board
  • Volunteering for a community event such as Mother Son Dance, Father-Daughter Dance, Booster’s Crab Feed, Spring Auction and Student Showcase, Senior Dinner, or Sip, Shop and Mingle Holiday Shopping Boutique
  • Acting as an athletic team parent
  • Serving as a snack shack volunteer
  • Assisting in transportation to games
  • Hosting team dinners
  • Serving as a drama and music performance volunteer
  • Assisting with graphic arts design
  • Acting as at-large community volunteers in Admissions, Campus Ministry, Advancement, or other offices
  • Donating refreshments for school events ($25 value = 1 service hour), two dozen homemade refreshments or meals = 1 service hour

SPECIAL EVENTS

Special events throughout the year raise funds for programs benefiting students and provide opportunities for the community to celebrate together. There are many ways to participate – sponsorships, item donations, and of course, through attendance at the events organized by the school.

Patron of the Arts and Athletic Booster

Over 98% of Marin Catholic students participate in the visual or performing arts programs, and over 88% of students participate in athletics. Supporters of these specific programs support initiatives and events and provide direct financial support to the arts and athletic programs. Families can be a Patron of the Arts and/or Athletic Booster. Every student participating in the arts or athletics benefits from the support that the Patrons of the Arts and the Athletic Boosters provide. Click here to learn more about Patrons of the Arts.
