MC Celebrates Homecoming 2018

Marin Catholic’s alumni and current students celebrated another successful and enjoyable Homecoming weekend this October. The weeks leading up to the big day were filled with activities and school spirit, and the community collaboration culminated in the Saturday game, alumni reunion, and dance.

On Saturday, October 6, students arrived at the Dino Ghilotti stadium to watch Marin Catholic's match-up against San Marin. During halftime, each class council performed a skit corresponding with their class Homecoming theme and Queen Molly Phelan was announced to roaring cheers from the bleachers.

From the victorious football game, to the crowning of Queen Molly Phelan, to the Classic-American-Roadtrip theme of the dance, students had a fun-filled Homecoming experience and wore their Wildcat pride loud and proud.

The festivities began two weeks before the dance, at the first rally, where the eight princesses were announced and recognized for their achievements and contributions to our school community. These young women are exceptionally successful in the classroom, through their service to their community, and involvement in various activities at Marin Catholic.

During Homecoming Spirit week, the princesses completed exciting lunchtime challenges put on by each Class Council such as Dodgeball against the faculty and a scavenger hunt. In place of their school uniform, students dressed up in silly attire and gear. Highlights included Jersey Day and Tacky-Tourist Day.

Later that evening, Molly was crowned at the dance, where she and the other seven princesses opened the first slow dance with their fathers and brothers. The student body looked brilliant in their formalwear, the gym was decked out in decorations, and the DJ played smash-hits all night.
