Class of 2023!

CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME TO THE INCOMING FRESHMAN CLASS OF 2023!
MARIN CATHOLIC SOFTBALL

Marin Catholic High School offers a Varsity Softball Program to all female athletes.  Currently the school does not have a junior varsity program.  All incoming freshman are welcome and encouraged to try out.  Although prior softball experience is recommended it is not required to try out. Softball is a spring sport that begins in February and ends in late May.

Our team is coached by Dave Albini. Dave is in his 6th year as Marin Catholic’s Varsity Softball Coach. He’s been coaching club softball for over 8 years. Before joining Marin Catholic he was an assistant at San Marin High School from 2009 to 2012.

Our team usually consists of 15 to 20 athletes and plays a schedule of 24 games, including tournaments where the team travels and rooms together. Practices are 4 to 5 days a week including games. There is no “on campus” softball field, so the team utilizes College of Marin’s facilities for games and practices.

In 2015 the Marin Catholic Softball Team won the MCAL Championship as well as the North Coast Section Division 4 Championship, their first in school history. The team finished ranked number 3 in the state in their division. In 2016 the team finished with a record of 22-4, won the regular season MCAL Title and successfully defended their 2015 NCS Championship, by winning again in 2016. The team finished ranked 7th in the state for Division 4 Softball.

“We strive to build a competitive, fun environment for female student athletes. I have a very strong belief in school spirit and team unity. I believe high school athletics can go a long way in building character, teaching responsibility, managing time commitments and preparing students for college and beyond. Welcome to the Wildcat Family and I look forward to seeing you on the field.”
