Mother Assumpta Long, OP Visits Marin Catholic

The students buzzed with excitement and anticipation when they heard the news that Mother Assumpta Long, Prioress General of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, would be visiting Marin Catholic.
It had been a full year since her last visit to the school and the students were more than ready to welcome her back.  Mother Assumpta came all the way from Ann Arbor, Michigan to California to see the Marin Catholic Sisters and made a quick visit to the school on the morning of Friday, November 7.

As Mother toured the Sisters' classes, the freshmen were especially impressed by Mother's great sense of humor.  Mother told the freshmen stories of meeting Bl. Teresa of Calcutta and St. John Paul II as the class partook of delicious chocolate-glazed doughnuts.  The juniors, who had met Mother the previous year, proudly treated her to MC's new favorite Christian song "10 000 Reasons".  She was more than impressed with the vocal talent of our Marin Catholic students!  To top it all off, Mother was able to join the entire school at the Veteran's Day ceremony, joining MC in honoring and praying for our veterans.  Mother commented on the graciousness of the students at Marin Catholic, who went out of their way to introduce themselves and welcome her to the campus.

Thank you, Mother Assumpta, for the five Sisters who currently teach at Marin Catholic, and thank you for your visit to our school!
