Marin Catholic Celebrates Advent

On Friday December 12, Marin Catholic celebrated an all-school Advent Mass. The faculty and staff hosted the Mass by proclaiming the Mass readings and writing the Prayers of the Faithful.
The Campus Ministry Department transformed the gym into a sacred space for the liturgy by creating a large Advent wreath, and lighting luminaries that spelled out the word "hope" in the stands. The liturgy choir, that is composed of over 40 students and faculty members, filled the gym with sacred music. Our Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist sang Lo How a Rose E're Blooming and O Salutaris Hostia.

We also honored the feast day for Our Lady of Guadalupe by creating a shrine to Our Lady and praying for our Latino brothers and sisters in our community. Msgr. Sheeran preached on the theme of hope, and how Advent is a happy time that invites us all to prepare for the coming of Christ.
