Wildcats Defeat State's #20 Drake

In front of a packed house in San Anselmo Saturday night, Marin Catholic handed Drake their 1st loss of MCAL 52-51. MC took a 24-18 halftime lead on 10 1st half points by Joey Calcaterra. Jesse Hunt's 20 2nd half points eventually gave Drake the lead late in the game, but crucial free throws by Jack Snyder, Frankie Calcaterra, and the final 2 free throws by Joey Calcaterra with 24.7 seconds left gave the Wildcats the lead that they would hold on to for the win. Drake had 2 chances for the game winner, but came up empty both times. Sepehr Agnese again had a solid floor game, and hit 2 three's in the second half that gave the Wildcats an answer to the Pirates surge in making the game very close. Joey Calcaterra finished with 20 points, Charlie Duysen contributed 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists , and 2 steals. Frankie Calcaterra added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Hunt led all scorers with 24 points. Dane Wells chipped in with 10 points for the Pirates.
