During the weekend of November 14, 2015, the Marin Catholic Outings Club took a group of 14 students to Bullfrog Pond in Guerneville for a camping trip. On Saturday morning, the group met at MC and piled into the Yukons with their tents, sleeping bags, and snacks for the road. They headed north and arrived at their campsite in the middle of the Armstrong Redwood Forest. The trip started with a beautiful hike lead by Ms. Churchill and Ms. Wagner. The students had a great time, laughing and singing, and took many many pictures as the sun set over the mountain ranges. That night, they gathered around the fire eating Hugo’s world famous chili, roasting marshmallows, gazing up at the stars, and talking the night away. The group awoke in the middle of the night to find that the bucketing rain had found its way into their tents and had drenched all of their belongings, including their sleeping bags.  At the time, they were cold and miserable but found humor in it the next morning. We made light of the situation and we each told stories about our nights. The trip ended with another quick hike before officially heading back. Senior Michaela Andrues stated, "By the time we arrived at MC, we were exhausted. A lovely kind of exhaustion, though. What a marvelous weekend we had with an amazing group of kids."
