Politzer Invited to Try Out for National Team

Freshman Sydney Politzer Invited To Attend The USA Basketball 2016 U17 National Team Trials in Colorado Springs!
Sydney Politzer received confirmaiton form the Director of USA Women’s Basketball announcing that her application to participate at the 2016 National Team Trails has been approved by the Developmental National Team Committee.  Sydney will be one of 150 high schools girls from around the Nation to compete for 12 spots on the USA U17 National Team. 
Sydney Politzer is currently a freshman at Marin Catholic High School and plays travel AAU basketball for the East Bay Explosion (EBX). EBX’s spring/summer schedule includes games at National college viewing tournaments in Lexington, Las Vegas, Nashville, Portland, and Spokane.
The USA Basketball Development National Team Committee is responsible for all facets of Trails and team selection.  35 Athletes received invitations to attend the Trials. Athletes not receiving an invitation applied to attend the Trials by submitting an application, due to space limitations a maximum of 115 applicant athletes will be selected to attend the Trials, as determined by the Committee.  Sydney was notified on Friday, April 15th that the USA Basketball Development National Team Committee selected Sydney to be one of the 115 additional athletes to be invited to participate in the USA U17 National Team Trails May 25 through May 30, 2016 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co.
The USA Basketball selection committee is responsible for selecting athletes to be invited to the team trials, with the actual selection of the 12 member team and ongoing performance evaluations of the team members.
The USA U17 National Team, once selected, will be competing over the summer in the FIBA World Championships, FIBA Americas Championships, World University Games and the Pan American Games.
