CA Scholarship Federation
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a prestigious statewide honor society in California that recognizes high school students for academic excellence, encouraging scholarship, service, and citizenship through a points-based system from rigorous courses. Membership requires earning points from grades in specific courses (A=3, B=1) each semester, with a D or F disqualifying you, and members can earn Sealbearer status for a gold seal on diplomas and cords at graduation by achieving membership for four semesters (sophomore-senior years). Benefits include college scholarships, transcript recognition, and community service opportunities, fostering a strong academic ethic for college applications.
How it Works:
Points System: Members earn points each semester based on grades in designated List I (core/advanced) and List II (other) courses, with bonus points for advanced courses (AP, IB, Honors).
Disqualification: A 'D' or 'F' in any course, even one not counted for points, disqualifies a student for that semester.
Application: Membership is for one semester and requires students to apply each term, as it's not automatic.
Moderators: Kate Zamacona and Suzanne Gooder
