Trip Moderator: Joe Ward
What: This trip will offer an extraordinary opportunity for our students to travel to what has been called “the most biologically intense place on earth”.  They will be introduced to the exotic wildlife of the coastal lowland tropical rainforest. They will be active; hiking to waterfalls, swimming, zip-lining, and surfing. They also will be active participants in the community; participating in the Endangered Sea Turtle Voluntourism program (tourists helping to assist the researchers in their work and potentially releasing hatchlings to the ocean) as well as learning about sustainable food production from a local expert in their farm. The immersion in the Latin culture of Costa Rica will provide them with a rich cultural experience they won’t soon forget.

The trip has been designed for a small group of students to offer them the most impactful experience possible. This is a boutique operation which has been chosen for the attention to detail, the personal interactions between staff and students, as well as the meaningful time spent together amongst ourselves eating meals together, hanging by the pool, or playing games in the lounge.

Passport Requirement: (By November 17, 2023 the Student must either provide a Passport valid through December 2024 OR provide proof of application for Passport.  Failure to do so will jeopardize their spot on the trip.)
