On Tuesday, April 1, Coach Matt Ogelsby held an information night over 50 people in the lacrosse program and those in the community interested in pursuing lacrosse in college.  Coach O has a wealth of knowledge of the recruiting process having gone through it himself with Duke, as well as for many of his current and former players.  Some current Marin Catholic students were on hand to share their story about college recruiting as well.  Here are some comments from attendees:

"It was a really great presentation that I wish I heard when my son was in 8th Grade or a freshman! Parents cannot navigate this on their own. From all accounts, Coach O was motivating and inspirational, extremely informative, and will provide the missing puzzle piece of college recruiting to the MC lacrosse community. In addition, the student speakers did a great job talking about themselves which is not always easy for teenage boys!" - MC Parent

"I think the talk Matt gave and the student presentations were impressive. Matt gave a sense of direction to all in the audience and suggested tips on what it takes to be a successful lacrosse player. He stressed not only the skills of the sport but the Grades.  Lacrosse players are recruited early now and the Grades are ever so important as it opens doors to a number of opportunities one could never have imagined.
His presentation was very informative and he knows exactly what it takes to be a successful player both on and off the field. The recruiting process is confusing and all students have a different journey. The students who spoke were great; and I was impressed at their composure and at how confident they were  to attend their respective schools. In addition, going through the recruiting process is confusing and it helps to listen to students who are doing just that. It was great for the MC community to listen to these boys speak as they are each  to be admired for their hard work and dedication to the school and the sport." - MC Parent
