Paul Allen
The Odd Thing About Her Face
It's just the strangest thing!
Her face is like an orchestra with a headless conductor.
I can’t tell if those great eyes want to act as my lighthouse in the cold fog
Or the speeding headlights of an oncoming semitruck.
Is her button nose yearning to rest against my shoulder
Or sniff out my terror as she hunts me down?
Maybe I’ll put her under a magnifying glass.
But what if those slick lips try to kiss me?
Or worse,
Eat me whole!
Someone ought to replace that conductor soon,
For I simply cannot comprehend what song his band intends to play for me!
