Shark Dissection in Marine Science

On Monday, April 11, Marine Science students performed a shark dissection with teacher Mr. Ward. The class just finished a unit on cartilaginous fish. Students dissected a Dogfish shark (Squalus acanthias), in order to gain a deeper understanding of the shark's anatomy and all of its numerous adaptations which have enabled sharks to successfully live on this planet for over 400 million years.
