Fall Concert Series: One Hit Wonders
On November 15th and 16th the Performing Arts Department presented their Fall Concert Series: One Hit Wonders.
On November 15th and 16th the Performing Arts Department presented their Fall Concert Series: One Hit Wonders. The concert series featured a wide variety of ensembles over two nights with a variety of music from Miles Davis to Mozart. Highlights included a beautiful choral rendition of the traditional song Irish Blessing. In addition, the Jazz Band embraced the concert theme by performing Weather Report’s Birdland, followed by Chamber Ensemble’s take on The Shire Theme from the Lord of the Rings. On the electronic side, Music Tech used samples to create an artistic remix of Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby. Both nights featured a series of beautiful original compositions written by the Advanced Contemporary ensembles. Since the fall concert, the student ensembles have been recording their favorite songs from their respective repertoire, and Music Tech students are finishing mixing and mastering them to be released next week.
