Mock Trial Participates in the Marin County Mock Trial Competition

The Marin Catholic Mock Trial team spent last weekend participating in the Marin County Mock Trial competition.  Under the direction of Judge Beverly Wood, District Attorney Tom McCallister, and MC Alumna Kayla Beckman the MC attorneys and witnesses have spent hours preparing a case (State vs. Rae Concha) where the defendant has been accused of 2nd degree murder and illegal drug possession with the intent to sell.  

 

The MC team gets to argue both sides of the case, prosecution and defense in front a judge and jury vs. another local team.  The judges are true Marin County judges and the jury are attorneys from the local area.  With specific time limits, rules and objections from the opposing team participating in Mock Trial is about knowing your material and being able to speak eloquently on a variety of subjects, never knowing what will come next.
