Jared Goff '13

Jared Goff graduated from Marin Catholic in 2013. During his time as a Wildcat he was a standout on the football field leading his team to a 2012 Section and NorCal Championship respectively. He was also the CIF State finalist and an Elite 11 finalist in that same year. Goff was the MCAL “Back of the Year” both in 2011 & 2012. His varsity career record at MC was 39-4 and his overall MC career was 49-4 with 7,914 passing yards and 93 touchdown passes.

Goff started his college career at the University of California, Berkeley in 2013, where he began all 37 games during his three seasons (2013-15) at Cal and is the only quarterback in school history to start his first game as a true freshman. He set 26 Cal records including career marks for passing yards (12,220), passing yards per game (329.7 ypg), TD passes (96), completions (977), passing attempts (1,569), total offense (12,086) and total plays (1,739). In his final season as a junior in 2015, Goff established then-Pac-12 single-season records with 4,719 yards passing and 43 touchdown passes while becoming the first Cal quarterback to earn first-team All-Pac-12 honors since Aaron Rodgers in 2004. In 2015, Goff led the Cal team to an 8-5 Cal winning record and a bowl game appearance for the first time since 2011, as well as a post-season win for the first time since 2008 with a 55-36 victory over Air Force in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. Goff became Cal's second No. 1 overall selection in the NFL Draft when the Los Angeles Rams made him the first pick on April 28, 2016. Goff has been to the Pro Bowl three times (2017, 2018, 2022) during his first seven NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Rams (2015-20) and the Detroit Lions (2021-22).

Jared Goff finished his collegiate career at Cal with 26 school records and launched his NFL career as the 1st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Rams. Following 4 seasons with the Rams, including a Super Bowl LIII appearance in 2018 and two Pro Bowl selections in 2017 and 2018, Goff was traded to the Detroit Lions in 2021. In 2022, Goff led the Lions to a winning season in which the team won eight out of their final ten games.  In addition to leading the league in touchdown-interception ratio (4.14), coming second in the league in 25+ yard passes (35), and posting 4,438 passing yards, Goff was also named the 15th most valuable player of the 2022 NFL season by ESPN. During the 2022 season, Goff had five 300-yard games, bringing his 300-yard game career total to 31 games through seven NFL seasons, surpassing Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning, and Matthew Stafford and setting the record for 4th most 300-yard games through 7 seasons in NFL history. Goff holds the Lions franchise records for most consecutive passes without an interception (324), most consecutive home games with at least two touchdown passes (6), highest touchdown to interception ratio (4.14), highest completion percentage in a single season (67.2% in 2021), highest single season passer rating (99.2% in 2022), and lowest interception percentage in a single season (1.2% in 2022).
